Browse our collection of original realistic drawings images of this strange salamander that is the axolotl. The axolotl is an amphibian that always stay in its larval form! They never complete a metamorphosis to an "adult" form like other amphibians and they have huge external gills.
The axolotls are very fun to draw and to color! They have an almost translucid skin and can display different color variants. Usually axolotls are brownish, but their genes make them prone to mutate to different color types. We observe albino axolotls (white or pale pink with red eyes) and melanoid axolotls (dark blue or black). Axolotls can have speckles on their skin and the special ability to change their color in order to camouflage!
I really enjoyed drawing this collection of axolotls. I looked up scientific pictures to create very realistic axolotl drawings. The skin and its multiple folds, as well as the huge external gills, were very fun to draw! I hope you enjoy coloring these axolotl images as much as I do.
These axolotl coloring pages are for those seeking to reproduce realistic looking axolotls that contain lots of details! The different types of colors morphs varieties of axolotl allow for great creative expression! Inspire yourself from real color morphs to color these axolotl drawings or create your own morph and give it a new name. Simply enjoy yourself!
