This beautiful bird is apparently a scourge in the suburbs of Sydney, Australia. They frequently rummage through garbage and are intelligent enough to find ways to defeat any bin protections. They are worthy enough to be the subject of a New York Times article on how sulfur-crested cockatoos are trash-can bandits.

How to draw a sulphur-crested cockatoo

For this drawing, I started by drawing a pale sketch with a pencil. I then worked the contours and added in details. Once satisfied with the sketch, I used a Copic Multiliner marker to retrace the edges, making some bolder for accent. I started coloring by adding the yellow hues. I finished the drawing by adding grey shadows to give texture to the white feathers and by coloring the beak.
